As a young adult, I find myself most times, fighting inner battles of figuring out what do I want from life, what can I do, or can I overcome this challenge.
Sometimes, I get pushed at the edge and feel like giving up. I get to talk to some of my international student friends, and it turns out we all go through this. To get through this phase of life family is usually a great source of support.
Unfortunately, my home, family and all the familiar things that can be good sources of relief are more than 7,000 miles away.
However, the Global Learning Office staff members have been a huge support system to me and all of the international students. They are constantly providing guidance and resources to help us achieve our goals. Quoting Jennifer Apthorpe, the International Outreach Coordinator at JCC: “it our responsibility to help you achieve your dreams, and it is always a pleasure to do that.”
I love the Global Learning Office staff members because they do their job not only as their duty, but with so much love and passion. It is indeed a blessing to be a part of the international community at Jamestown Community College.
