Exploring Ireland

Hi! Let me introduce myself! My name is Taylor Satalino, and I’m currently studying to become a nurse practitioner. I am 19 years old and live in a very small town (Bemus Point) in New York. I’ve never been away from home for more than two weeks and I’ve never gone a day in my life without talking to my mom. My dog keeps me sane and is absolutely one of my best friends.

I am currently studying abroad in Ireland, finally away from home! I chose Ireland because I have family connections here. I am also taking classes that will allow me to learn more about my family and Irish culture. I love exploring the real Ireland and going beyond the touristy spots.

headshot of TaylorI’ve come to realize that hiking is my new favorite activity and I joined an outdoor pursuits club that hikes every weekend in different mountains throughout Ireland. I also joined another club called the international society, which has allowed me to meet people from all over the world! There are TGIF parties every Friday with a theme and games to interact with others. I’ve become more cultured in two weeks than I have in 19 years! I live with 5 roommates, two girls from Canada and France, and then three boys from Minnesota, Hungary, and China. I never thought that after two weeks it’d feel like I’d known them my whole life! This experience has had an amazing start and I am so incredibly excited to see how much better it can get.
